Reviews - What do customers think about NIrV Gift& Award Bible?
Very readable and understandable, which led to a bloated amount of words Sep 5, 2008
While the NIV is quite readable already, the NIrV provides even greater readability by avoiding any difficult words and replacing them with basically definitions for the original words.
This is great for people who wish to have an easy time getting through each verse's meanings, but it's obviously not good for a word-for-word study. I personally use it in conjunction with another version like NIV, NASB, ESV, or HCSB.
Decent Sep 2, 2008
NIRV version is great for kids and adults alike. The problem with this one is the small print. NIRV version is written in language for the 2nd-4th grader to understand, but the print is too small for 8-9 year olds.
A Great Tool for English Language Learners: NIrV Bible May 8, 2008
While searching for a more comprehensible version of the Bible for my adult English language learners, I found the New International Readers Version. It's very close to the NIV but uses a more limited vocabulary and sentence structure, making Scriptural concepts easier to grasp. Wonderful!!
