Reviews - What do customers think about Los Misterios De La Habana (Autores Espanoles E Iberoamericanos)?

Brilliant and Innovative!  Sep 27, 2005
Valdes wites with a mastery of language. The novel works in two ways: as a collection of loosely tied together vignettes or as a novel of fractured events/fractured characters. Valdes weaves historical and mythological threads together with lived experience, making the novel highly textured. This is not the Cuba seen through nostalgic eyes, but one that is fleshed out and given life through rich and evocative langauge. Valdes continues to impress me.
An expensive dissapointment  Jan 9, 2005
