Reviews - What do customers think about Heaven & Hell?
Wonderful book, fantastic imagery of life in Hell May 14, 2010
After reading this, I truly want to make sure that no one in my family or my friends goes to this place. It is deserved because of rejecting God's grace and forgiveness through Christ but the way out is so easy. Accept Jesus as your savior and TRULY MEAN IT!
I'm ambivalent Mar 28, 2010
As a work of pure fiction the book is ok, nothing too dramatic. One of the few writers who have gone out on a limb to give some sort of view of what they think heaven and hell may be like. And for this I give 3 stars.
But there are some holes and some aspects of this novel is quite worrying: The writer has glossed over the fact that Chris the main character did something that we as Christians are not supposed to do i.e. being equally yoked with unbelievers. The bible is quite clear in its teaching about Christians forming relationships with unbelievers much less getting married.
God said he would wipe away every tear from our eyes. It's amazing that God didn't do a very good job removing Chris's memory of his wife who ended up in hell.
As far as I am aware the Bible also teaches that Jesus being part of the Godhead is coequal with the Father. This book however portrays Jesus to be inferior to the Father.
The issue if God is arbitrary in his rulings or is it done with justice and mercy rears its head. Why if God is holy and just and cannot stand the very appearance of sin, does he have an agreement and dialogue with Satan who is the very personification of sin - the Satan who actually fought to over throw Him? You are left to ask the question if we humans are so much worse than Satan. The question must also be asked how someone with such a pure heart as Serena ends up in hell
I guess that's the thing with fiction - poetic license can be taken.
One of my favorite books Aug 29, 2009
I love this story. I could not wait to read the sequel which was just as good. This book is a roller coaster of emotion. I found the books so interesting and feel the author was as close to what I believe is Heaven and Hell. I wish I could contact the author and say...write more books!!!! I pray that everyone was as moved as I was!
A visual feast and a page turner too! Aug 21, 2009
Honestly, who doesn't wonder what Heaven and Hell are like? The author has rendered both worlds in such amazing detail, I feel like I'm there. Plus, the plot--whether Chris (in Heaven) and Serena (in Hell) will ever meet again--has me hooked on wondering what will happen next. I also love that this book is long--over 500 pages--so I feel like I'm really diving into something that will keep me occupied for a long time, which makes this book perfect to bring on a long vacation.
A Must Read For ALL Aug 27, 2008
This is a must read for everyone. Whether you are already one of God's children or not. Definitely a must read for those that are wondering what the possibilities could be......I couldn't put it down once I started it!!!
