Publishers Description From Fear to Love is the honest and personal story of one woman's determination to face the past and find a way to change. This account is about racial reconciliation and the often painful process of recounting difficult events in order to learn from them and bring good from them. While this memoir is about bridging the divide between blacks and whites, it will resonate with any reader who struggles with apprehension about those who are not like them, or those who seem to dislike or even hate them simply because of their differences. If, like the old fables, this book had a place at the end of the story for a moral, it would be this: If you are willing to face the truth and take the risks you can move beyond the weight of the past, be healed, and be a blessing to others. Yvette Parsons is a wife, mother, daughter, Bible teacher and friend whose life journey has taken her to many places, and through many challenges. Today she and her husband Rick make their home in Charlotte, North Carolina, where they are active members at Forest Hill Church and Yvette is able to be a part of the ministry and programs of community outreach sponsored by A Better World.

Reviews - What do customers think about From Fear to Love: One Woman's Journey toward Racial Reconciliation?
Timely Memior Apr 7, 2008
What a timely memoir of a very thoughtful and intelligent woman, who through no apparent fault of her own, became the victim of racial prejudice as a young child in several unrelated situations. As an adult she is able to see and assimilate how these and other factors including her family history have led her to be the person that she is today. She can forgive the abuse she suffered as a child, reconcile the family history and move on service to her family and to her community. With the current refocus on race in the political campaigns this book is a voice, written in love, that shows us how powerful forgiveness can be.

From Fear to Love Apr 26, 2007
What a tremendous read! I was given this book as a gift, and I read it thinking that it would be a nice story, however, it would not apply to me on a personal level. Was I wrong! From an intellectual and emotional standpoint, I was assuredly challenged. It is a road taken from ignorance (in the nicest sense of the word) to enlightenment. How many of us would take such a journey of healing? To seek God's will in one's life and then take action is more than admirable, it is inspiring. Brava! to Ms. Parsons. She has written an excellent and thought provoking book.
