Item description for Kid CEO (Not Available-Out Of Print) by Ed Young...
Overview In these days of corporate scandal, there's a far more pervasive and serious problem going on right under our noses. It's a family takeover orchestrated by our kids. That's right-children are taking control of family units in record numbers. When a man and woman marry, says author Ed Young, they occupy the leadership roles in their relationship. But in some cases, as children enter the family arena, that begins to change. The kids slowly become the center of the family universe as parents relinquish control to them. In effect, the children become Kid CEOs and the parents become the support staff.
Through a thought-provoking yet entertaining analysis of contemporary family dynamics, Ed Young challenges parents to reclaim their leadership role and explains why marriage must take first priority in the home. As parents, we have charge of our children for only a short time. It's up to us to prepare them for life...and still have, after they grow up, a marriage more vibrant than ever.

Reviews - What do customers think about Kid CEO (Not Available-Out Of Print)?
Kids CEO Sep 16, 2004
Loved the pratical advice on how to raise children in a selfish world. The author comes to fresh conclusions that most child rearing books give. I plan on trying a few of the recommendations.
There's hope for the family Sep 9, 2004
Every parent needs to read this book! My wife and I have a two-year-old and have learned so much about how to raise our son on solid principles that work. And at the same time keep our marriage a priority in the home. Ed Young's words are right on the mark: children have taken over the home and parents have let them. Giving kids everything they want is not giving them the best in life. Among his practical advice is a challenge for every parent to have a regular date night with their spouse and to keep a set bedtime for their kids. If parents just did those two things, it would revolutionize families today.
