Reviews - What do customers think about The Pleasures of Pi,e and Other Interesting Numbers?
A disaster: a useless collection of formulae Jun 21, 2008
I was drawn by the title of this book, hoping to see interesting elementary methods applied to the proof and application of pi, e etc.
However, it turned out the author simply collected an almost useless collection of math formulae. The proofs are so flaky they look like a joke. The author states in the beginning that he hopes the book can be of use to high school students or any amateur that are interested in math, but the proofs actually involves derivatives found in analysis, no elegant elementary methods. What a shame!
