Reviews - What do customers think about Ready or Not?
A page-turning erudite and entertaining novel May 20, 2010
I got great pleasure and satisfaction from reading 'Ready or Not'. It is firstly a brilliant story. It will keep you amused and interested, and you will be 'touched' by each of the characters. However, what I found extremely satisfying was the texture of each sentence. This novel abounds in the most profound, funny, and wild metaphors. Some sentences left me suspended in thought for minutes, and actually will never leave my mind. Grace's deep understanding of the human condition is depicted continually. Her scenes are dramatic and colorful and are interwoven with speculative thought and wisdom. I couldn't put it down, I savoured and digested every sentence from cover to cover. It is a book that will appeal to you on all levels - your hunger for erudition, and romantic escapism and faraway places. It embeds an expose of the many shades of human nature interwoven in a story around the lives of four creative Dubliners during the Celtic Tiger epoch. Enjoy!
