Reviews - What do customers think about A Child's Bible?
Exactly what I was looking for Apr 3, 2010
I bought this children's Bible to help introduce my 4-year-old daughter to the Bible and its stories.
The illustrations are colorful and soft. They stir the imagination while also evoking a sense of peacefulness. The book includes more than 50 stories, and each is about 1-3 pages long. Sentences are worded simply yet beautifully, and stories are told at a level appropriate for young children.
I spent a great deal of time trying to find a children's Bible that would appeal to both me and my child. One of the most popular and highly recommended books didn't quite fit my taste - the illustrations were just too cartoony, almost like they didn't fit the gravitas of the Bible. Many other recommendations had illustrations that I thought were too realistic for a child's interest. Others included questions at the end of each story, like a quiz, and that seemed a bit too academic for a pre-schooler.
Finally, I stumbled upon this gem, which seems to be highly rated when it is reviewed, but there aren't a lot of references to it out there - maybe because it's relatively new, published in 2005!? Anyway, I love it, and I hope it finds its way into more homes.
A beautiful book! Aug 26, 2009
This is without a doubt the most beautiful children's Bible I've ever seen. I have purchased 4 as gifts and will be purchasing a 5th one shortly.
