Item description for GOLDSANDS by William Maltese...
They were as different as sun and moon... Gil Goldsands believed he could handle any complications that might arise on his archaeological assignment in Egypt. But he hadn't anticipated the two dynamic men who would pursue him from the moment he arrived. Powerful Sheikh Abdul Jerada - darkly handsome, openly passionate - clearly wanting Sand's love. Peter Donas - elusive and as seductive as the desert; his kisses and touch as fiery and consuming as the hot Saharan sun - wanting? Goldsands wasn't quite sure!

Disappointing Feb 22, 2008
I really wanted to like this book but unfortunately there is very little to recommend it starting with a very unsympathetic protagonist. A waste of an exotic location and the author's obvious knowledge of egyptian lore and archeology. Maltese makes you wait for the passion and ultimately it falls flat. Nonetheless if you want something different you might enjoy it's straightforward quality.

Goldsands by William Maltese, is a well written book, it was enjoyable not just because of the love story, but because of the locations that are discribed so well, you felt like you were there. I am familiar with all most all the sites mentioned in the book, and it was interesting to visit Egypt. The characters include Goldsands and the two males that are in love with him, there are a couple of minor characters. Goldsands has his hands full trying to find evidence of the Scorpian King, and trying to get his man. I gave this book four stars. Only because I think Goldsands fell in love with the wrong male. Oh well, I think it is fantastic that he had two men that loved him. I highly recommend this book. There are some sad scenes in the book, I did need my sob towel. I love the cover photo.
