Item description for Love Made Perfect: Foundations for the Holy Life by William M. Greathouse & Wesley D. Tracy...
Overview Love Made Perfect. Is it possible this side of heaven? Is it just for the chosen few? Dr. William Greathouse believes that entire sanctification is a genuine and necessary experience for the growth and victory of every believer. He sets forth in easy-to-understand terms and illustrations the scriptural basis for this hope. Love Made Perfect is written not only for the believer seeking a deeper walk with the Lord but also for the one who already knows Christ in His sanctifying fullness. It is a book designed to set you on the journey of a lifetime - and beyond.
Publishers Description The Dialog Series is made up of Bible-based, liferelated studies for small groups, Sunday School classes, and personal discoveries. Each text consists of 13 chapters written by a variety of well-qualified and thought-provoking Christian thinkers. The focus is on interaction and, of course, dialogue.
"So that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live" (Deuteronomy 30:6, NIV). For many people discovering perfect love seems a frustrating and futile search. Even Christians who accept God as a loving Father have difficulty defining the abstract concepts of holiness, sanctification, and in turn, perfect love. In the form of exposition and exercise, Dr. Greathouse has prepared a Wesleyan, biblically sound approach to teaching the message of holiness. Love Made Perfect defines the abstract and gives fullness and meaning to entire sanctification. Wes Tracy, former editor of the Herald of Holiness, contributes vital end-of-chapter exercises to create a deeper study of the book and bring the material to practical application.

Reviews - What do customers think about Love Made Perfect: Foundations for the Holy Life?
Love Made Perfect - a good start May 17, 2000
Love Made Perfect is a good introduction to the doctrine of sanctification in the Wesleyan tradition. As an introdution the book primarily serves the lay audience. To aid in study the book includes questions at the end of the chapters. This book would be an excellent resource for those who want to have a basic book for use in a Sunday School class. I would recommend the teacher also use or read A Laymam's Guide to Sanctification by H. Ray Dunning. For the person looking for a more indepth look at the doctrine of sanctification from the Wesleyan perspective, I would recommend they get another book by the same author: Wholeness in Christ. That book deals with the Biblical material in greater depth.
A Primer of Wesleyan Holiness Apr 9, 2000
Dr. William M. Greathouse, General Superintendent Emeritus in the Church of the Nazarene, has written a primer of the Wesleyan way for the lay person. In a straightforward manner LOVE MADE PERFECT introduces the reader to the perspectives of the "holiness folk" about the Christian life. With careful appeal to Scripture and to the writings of the 17th century Anglican and founder of Methodism, John Wesley, William Greathouse presents a balanced and sane perspective of the Wesleyan tradition's concern for the sanctification of life. It is theology with practical application to life, for each chapter concludes with an appended "Light For Your Spiritual Journey" that seeks to help the reader incorporate the truth of holiness into everyday life. This little book is a fitting door-opener for one seeking acquaintance with discipleship Wesleyan style.
