Item description for Channel Markers: Wisdom from the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount by William G. Enright...
Overview A practical, easy-to-understand exploration of these two sets of biblical guidelines that speak to those who want ethical direction for real-life circumstances.
Channel markers are the signs that help sailors navigate through shallow, potentially dangerous waters. Our quest to live as God's people calls us to listen for words of wisdom from our "channel markers"--for life is a journey with choices to be made, values to be pursued, and priorities to be set. In this book, William Enright describes the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount as channel markers and offers new insights on these key parts of the Bible. Responding to our church's hunger for ethical guidance, Enright masterfully examines each commandment and the Sermon on the Mount and explores why these texts are relevant today.

Reviews - What do customers think about Channel Markers: Wisdom from the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount?
Personally challenging Jan 27, 2008
Using a sermon series that focused on paying attention to what God wants us to do, Dr. Enright has masterfully offered thoughts that cause one to be alert for signs (channel markers in sailing jargon) that assist individuals to stay "on course" with the Lord.
This is a must read for those of us who tend to stray from our Christian commitments and responsibilities of sharing the Good News with others.
