Item description for Deadly Cure (Bioethics Series #2) by William Cutrer & Sandra Glahn...

The explosive continuation of the story that began in the best-seller, Lethal Harvest! Dr. Tim Sullivan is dead and the critical records for his last few weeks of genetic research are missing. His well-intentioned foray into illegal human cloning has left a legacy of danger in its wake. With the bio-genetics world desperate to obtain the secrets unearthed by the research, Dr. Sullivan's surviving family and colleagues, Marnie Sullivan, Dr. Ben McKay, and Dr. Luc Morgan, find themselves struggling to survive a treacherous mix of hidden agendas, ethical breaches, and life-and-death decisions. After a freak hospital accident injures Ben, he faces the possibility that he has contracted a deadly disease. Carlos Rivera's genetically-engineered daughters remain extremely ill. In his anger, Carlos seems capables of anything. Luc Morgan and his wife, Janelle, are expecting another baby only to find out that something is very wrong with the unborn child. When does human life begin? Is it ever appropriate to end it? Ben and Luc wrestle with these issues and find themselves in a blinding matrix of human motives as they struggle with the consequences of the Deadly Cure created by their former partner.

Reviews - What do customers think about Deadly Cure (Bioethics Series #2)?

Outstanding medical thriller  Jun 2, 2006
In-depth characters, engrossing plot and glued-to-your chair suspense all combine to make Deadly Cure a book worth reading and passing on. Deadly Cure provides fascinating insight into the benefits and pitfalls of medical research. Authors Glahn and Cutrer have written an emotionally charged book that draws the reader into medical ethics issues often not addressed in works of fiction. Their skillful writing helps readers understand the world of bio-genetics research. Definitely a must-read.
Much too preachy  Sep 29, 2002
Although I'm not a religious person, I've never sued anyone for displaying a Nativity scene at Christmas. Still, I'd rather not be told that there's only one way to look at the world and that my way is wrong. That's the feeling I got from this book. It's from a Christian publisher and I'm sure there's a good market for such fiction (you can leave it where the kids might find it), but I'll take a pass in the future.
I loved the book "Deadly Cure"  Jan 7, 2002
I think it was 3-4 times I was brought to tears reading this book. It touches the heart of Pregnancy loss and the deep pain , a subject that is often swept under the rug (it will disappear if we ignore it). This book was wonderfully written , tactfully while still exposing certain truths. I recommend this book as well as the first one, "Lethal Harvest".

I think it was about 3-4 times I was brought to tears in reading this book. It touches the heart about pregnancy loss and the deep pain. So many people try to sweep it under the rug and look away from this subject,( maybe it will disappear if we ignore it) but this book is wonderfully written, tactfully, while still exposing certain truths. I recommend this book as well as the first one,"Lethal Harvest".
Another Winner  Nov 4, 2001
Once again, Dr. Cutrer and Mrs. Glahn have produced a winner! An excellent combination of just enough "technese" and compelling characters makes this a "must read". Addressing tough ethical issues that face science and medicine today, they make their point while providing an outstanding and enjoyable story. I can't wait for their next book!!!
