Item description for Comfort In Times of Grief by Wilfred Kent...
Overview Comfort in Times of Grief is an apt title for this book. It is a story of love and the struggles of faith. The Love Story element dates back to the beginning of the author's time and proceeds to the present. It traces the forty-five year history of God's leading in the lives of two people, their love, trials and the building of an endearing relationship. Marriage can either be an entrance to an earthly Eden or the snare of infernal torment. This story outlines a happy marriage that was built through many sacrifices. The Struggles Of Faith is an attempt to reconcile ones faith with the harshness of reality. The time frame is the present and encompasses a period of six months. It started as an essay of 300 words written by the hospital bed of my wife Donna, who was struggling for her life on chemotherapy. During her four-month illness that ushered her into God's presence, twenty-six chapters were written forming the contents of this book. The struggles are recorded as WOW, an acronym for Words Of Wisdom. God often uses trials to bring about His purposes. A person that is unable to profit from such hardships, forfeits the benefits that God has in store. WOW, these are WordsOfWisdom we can live by. Both, the historical Love Story and the WOW Struggles of Faith meet in the final chapters, integrating them into a unified whole that brings hope to the grieving. Some have suggested titles like, Grief Relief, Hope In Times Of Hopelessness, Beyond Despair and Insights On Faith. Whatever the title, it is my sincere prayer that our love story and the struggles of faith that have been our lot, will engender hope and courage for anyone that may be walking through the valley of despair. If you have suffered some crushing loss and question the value of faith, then this book is for you. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforts us in all our tribulation (troubles), so that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) Wilfred (Wilf) R. Kent
