More About Sheila Walsh
Sheila Walsh is a powerful Bible teacher and best-selling author from Scotland with over 4 million books sold. A featured speaker with Women of Faith® conferences, she has reached more than 5 million women by combining honesty, vulnerability, and humor with God's Word. Her passion to see women's lives transformed by the power of God's word is contagious. Currently completing her Masters in Theology, Sheila lives in Frisco, Texas with her husband, Barry, her son, Christian, and her two little dogs, Belle and Tink.
Walsh began her career as a contemporary Christian singer after finishing college with studies in theology from London Bible College (now London School of Theology) in 1979 and music from the London Academy of Operatic Art. Walsh worked as an evangelist with the British chapter of Youth For Christ and sang with a group known as "The Oasis" until going solo in 1981. She also worked closely at this time with keyboard player Chris Rolinson, who contributed extensively to the unique sound on her first "new wave" style album, Future Eyes. He also toured with her on her first United States tour, where she opened for Phil Keaggy. As Walsh enjoyed some success both in the United Kingdom and America as a CCM musician, she was asked by minister Pat Robertson to serve as a co-host of his television talk-show, The 700 Club in 1987. Walsh served in this capacity into 1992 and also hosted her own talk-show, Heart to Heart with Sheila Walsh.
Ideological differences with Pat Robertson and general feelings of depression brought Walsh to re-examine her life's direction. After leaving Pat Robertson's enterprises in 1992 she sought therapy for her depression, eventually returning to college at Fuller Theological Seminary in California to take on doctoral studies in theology. Pat Robertson explained her departure from CBN as the result of a "nervous breakdown" brought on by the tremendous demands of her work with CBN. He asked his viewers to keep her in their prayers and ask God to give her the strength to continue doing His work.
She went on to write a book exploring her struggle with depression and her experiences with her faith as a Christian, entitled Honestly. While Walsh had written several books on theology before, this autobiography would become the wellspring of her later work on personal aspects of faith and would set the tone for her introspective, personal, but evangelical approach to affairs of modern theology.
Over the course of the latter 1990s, Walsh's work has concerned women's issues within the church and the unique relationship of the contemporary woman with God. She has written over seventeen books including Honestly, Living Fearlessly, and Life is Tough, but God is Faithful. She has also written several books for children recently. She also has continued her musical career as a songwriter and singer and has recorded several albums of new Christian music and traditional hymns arranged to a Celtic sound.
In 2005, Walsh partnered with Tommy Nelson publishers to create a line of children's books and DVDs called Gigi, God's Little Princess TM. The brand has become the #1 Christian Girl's brand and continues to be popular and releases new products.
Walsh, with her family, is now an active attendee of Prestonwood Baptist Church, in Plano, Texas.
As of 2007, Walsh has appeared on many TV programs such as: Life Today, Hour of Power and The Rock Gospel Show (BBC) among many others. She was a member of the team "Women of Faith" on the second season of The American Bible Challenge on GSN.
Sheila Walsh currently resides in Nashville, in the state of Tennessee. Sheila Walsh was born in 1956.

Reviews - What do customers think about Gigi Gods Little Princess: Sweet Dreams Princess?
A "girls only" Bible devotion Oct 9, 2009
Sweet Dreams Princess: Bedtime Bible Stories, Devotions, & Prayers (make sure the title is in italics), written and illustrated by Sheila Walsh, a well-known Christian singer and author, is over 300 pages and filled with 81 different Bible stories and devotions for girls. The stories are taken directly from the International Children's Bible. Each story is two pages long. At the end of each story is a devotion, followed by a short prayer, a promise or a praise.
The prayers are intended for encouraging girls to develop the habit of talking with God through prayer at the end of the day. An example: "Lord, please forgive me when I have an unthankful heart. I want you to know that I am THANKFUL for you and your goodness to me!"
The promises are short notes about God's promises. An example: "God still speaks to his Princesses through the Bible and through our quiet times of PRAYER and praise!"
The praises are little blessings to help girls think about all the blessings in their life and praise God for them. An example: "Dear God, you created the world and all that is in it. Nothing is too difficult for you!"
The artwork starts with the cover. It is bright pink with a jeweled crown (fake jewels set into the cover) sitting on a puffy pink pillow (a piece of stuffed fabric in the shape of a pillow glued onto the cover). The pages alternate in different pastel colors with various borders and stars and flowers sprinkled throughout.
What I Like: Everything.
What I Dislike: Nothing.
Overall Rating: Excellent.
Age Appeal: The publisher suggests 4-8 as the intended age group for this book. Most kids in this age group would need the stories read to them. I think girls as old as 10 would enjoy a Bible story book like this one.

children's devotioinal Aug 12, 2009
We used this book as a gift for a precious baby girl. What a great way for the family to begin sharing God with their children!
Perfect for a Little Princess Apr 8, 2009
My four-year-old daughter adores this book. We read a story from it every night before bed. The stories are short and simplified enough for her to understand. She often can be heard retelling the story the next day to her grandparents, or asking me more questions about the story after she has thought it over.
Awesome little book Jan 25, 2009
I purchased this Sweet Dreams Princess book for my grand daughters. The book shares the Love of Christ and they love it. They pick it out and want to be read to and try to read it themselves. My 7 year old grand daughter has it on the shelf right by her bed.
Thought-provoking devotions to share with your girls ages 4-8. Dec 15, 2008
If you have small children, chances are you've had your share of opportunities to read bedtime stories. In my experience, far too much of the children's literature available today is full of nothing but silliness. While there is a time and place for silliness, there are times when it's important for the stories we share with our children to take on a more serious and thought-provoking tone. As I leafed through the pages in this book, I knew it would present many opportunities for heart-felt spiritual discussions with my daughters.
At first glance, you'll notice that this book is geared towards young girls between ages 4 & 8. Your girls will like the jeweled crown and puffy pink pillow on the cover and the many colorful illustrations throughout. This book has 81 different stories from both the Old and New Testaments based on the International Children's Bible. After each Bible story there is a sweet dreams devotion and either a prayer, promise, or praise. It's the sweet dreams devotions that give this book an A+ in my book. That's where you'll find further explanation to each Bible story and some simple questions that can lead to a great discussion.
I highly recommend Sweet Dreams Princess: God's Little Princess Bedtime Bible Stories, Devotions, & Prayers. This would make a great Christmas gift and will be perfect for that New Year's resolution to share a nightly devotion and prayer time with your children.
