More About VeggieTales
VeggieTales is an American series of children's computer animated films featuring anthropomorphic vegetables in stories conveying moral themes based on Christianity. They frequently retell Biblical stories, sometimes anachronistically reframed, and include humorous references to pop culture in many different eras by putting Veggie spins on them (e.g., classic literature, TV shows, etc.). The series was developed by Big Idea Entertainment.
VeggieTales was created by Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki, who also provide many of the voices. Originally released in direct-to-video format, the series debuted on December 21, 1993. From September 9, 2006 to September 7, 2009, VeggieTales appeared on NBC's children's programming block qubo in a repackaged and edited format. In 2009, Netflix made many VeggieTales videos (in their uncut, original formats) and feature films available via their video streaming service. Big Idea has also published VeggieTales books and music CDs and branded items such as toys, clothing, and garden seeds for vegetables and flowers.

Reviews - What do customers think about Veggie Tales: Minnesota Cuke And The Search Fo?
Great fun Sep 29, 2005
Great movie, great parody on Indiana JOnes. Much like a "Toy Story", there is tons of funny analogies and literary references for adults. My 5-year old loved it. The bonus features (how to draw some of the characters, a few simple games, Silly Song sing along, and the "Making of...") are great little extras that provide a good way for parents to interact with kids. The story itself is funny, incredibly creative, and provides an excellent value lesson for children to think about. Your kids do NOT have to be familar with Indiana Jones movies to enjoy, but it would be advantages for parents. The lessons in Minn. Cuke are focused on 1)how to handle bullies 2)that objects don't have "power". Great entertainment. I think most kids 10 and under (and there parents) would enjoy it.
