Great creative retelling of the Exodus Sep 19, 2009
I read this to my two older boys (7,5) this morning at their request. My 5 year old, especially, is constantly looking through this book. If you know the account of the exodus of the Israelites from Eqypt and the story of Star Wars (my boys love playing Lego Star Wars), you will find yourself chuckling over and over! At the same time, it is a great way to retell the story of the exodus. After we read it, my boys told me what really happened in the exodus compared to Frog Wars (for instance, in Frog Wars, when the enslaved people from Salon crossed the Big Frog Pond that had been parted by God, they crossed on lily pads that turned to stone in the dry land- my boys told me that the real Israelites just walked on the dry land across) And that's what it's all about for me- reaffirming the Bible in our household in a creative way! I plan to get more in this series.
little star wars fans love it! Jun 16, 2009
I bought it for my five years old who just loves everything Star Wars. She likes the funny princess and green Darth Vader and wishes that she can get into the book too!
