Item description for Strength for Service to God and Country (Tan): Daily Devotional Messages for Those in the Service of Others by General Commission on Un Meth Men, Andrew B. Miller & Joseph L. Harris...
Overview This classic book of devotions, originally created in 1942 after Pearl Harbor, has been carried into battle by thousands of soldiers. After the tragedy of September 11, Evan Hunsberger, a young Eagle Scout, made it his project to republish the little devotional book his grandfather had cherished througout his years as a Navy corpsman during World War II.
"Strength for Service "was originally published in 1942, and over 720,000 copies were distributed to U.S. service men and women. After the events of September 11, 2001 the General Commission on United Methodist Men partnered with Evan Hunsberger, who had a vision to republish the little devotional book as his Eagle Scout service project to honor his grandfather. Eugene Hunsberger, a Navy corpsman, read it to dying men on the battlefields of the Pacific during World War II. This updated version includes 40 additional entries, with over one million copies purchased by and distributed to deserving service members.
More information is available at Strength for Service. Also available a Boy Scout version and in navy blue.

Reviews - What do customers think about Strength for Service to God and Country - Khaki?
instant messages from God Apr 10, 2009
It's not about the war, it's about the warrior. Originally published in 1942 for our troops and others in service to God and country, it is as appropriate today as it was all those many years ago. I send these to our troops overseas, and they have been well received. It is small enough to fit in a pocket, with a devotional for most every need to feed the souls of our warriors and clergy. One Marine wrote to me that it was like instant messaging with God. It is available in navy or khaki, and also available from most Methodist bookstores in bulk. An excellent, excellent devotional.
