Item description for The Champion in You by Kenneth C. Ulmer...
Overview Where did all the champions go? True champions are made, not born. This book examines how God builds champions. Looking at champions such as King David, Joshua, Jacob and many others, it looks at leadership issues, challenges, qualities, traits and values in today?s culture, and offers guidance and advice in a world increasingly bereft of true champions. Leaders are leaders only if someone is following them. Success is defined in this culture mostly by monetary wealth. But Champions are in a class all by themselves: They are not defined by money or followers, but by how they comport themselves, how they behave, how they live and influence people around them in ways that glorify God and encourage and inspire others. This book offers relevant examples of the qualities of true champions and how they can be transposed to anyone who wants to become a successful Christian champion in a modern world.

Reviews - What do customers think about Champion In You?
Building Champions for Divine Deployment Jan 14, 2009
"The Champion in You" challenges and inspires the reader to look within to discover their God given potential for becoming a champion. Dr. Ulmer provides keys for developing that dynamic truth.
Stories of champions, who often started their lives in humble beginnings, who were faced with obstacles yet went on to greatness and acclaim to become champions.
The book is a hands-on guide filled with practicable Bible principles leading to transformation and empowerment. Ulmer leads the reader step by step to finding God's purpose and potential for their lives.
Dr. Ulmer is a gifted and inspired communicator who models the same strategic Christian leadership principles he advocates in his book, the important attributes of the making of a champion. There is a deceptive simplicity in his writing. His insights into the scriptures are profound.
Unexpected lessons from the life of Jeremiah the prophet were inspiring and significant and surprisingly relevant for today. I found the chapter end notes especially helpful as they expanded or gave background information on the material being discussed.
This is a book for Christians at any stage in their journey. Kenneth Ulmer's writing is convicting, thought provoking and highly motivating. I can highly recommend this book.

Good book about how God wants us to go into all the world and preach the gospel. We need to not be ashamed of the gospel. God has given us His Spirit to influence people to come into the Kingdom. God has called us to be champions no matter how many times we fall or fail in life.

Isn't it correct that when we think of champions we probably don't think of Christian men and women. Do we? Dr. Ulmer, Seminary President, Pastor and Shepherd, and Author challenges all of us to learn to be a champion. In this expertly-written book he teaches us the way of life to develop winning character traits that are also the first quality traits of a leader, and he further stresses how we are to live with moral values, and for us to not be controllers, but to live a life of intergrity, all based on living with our Lord. Dr. Ulmer teaches us that there is a champion in you. Yes you! Read and learn how to be a faithful Christian champion!
