Item description for States & Capitals Music CD & Activity Book Set With Book(s) by Twin Sisters Productions & Kim M. Thompson...
Overview Learning our 50 states and their capitals has never been more fun! Children travel through each state learning important facts and trivia while singing "I want to learn about my country and learn about each state. I want to learn all the facts that make our nation great." Then, all states are sung in alphabetical order to the old favorite tune "Turkey in the Straw." Once children are familiar with the tune, the song is repeated in double time which adds to the excitement of memorizing our fifty states. Learning each state's capital becomes a snap as "Learning our Capitals" is sung to the melody of America's popular "Yankee Doodle." The excitement mounts as children are encouraged to shout out the missing state as each capital is given. Side 2 of the tape is designed for school productions so that children can sing and recite facts about each state and perform each song with the orchestral accompaniment. Also included: * Lyrics and sheet music to each song * Crossword puzzles, graphs and wordfinds * Poetry and creative writing activities * Our Fifty States study map * U.S. study guide for each capital city and its abbreviation

Reviews - What do customers think about States & Capitals CD/Book Set?
The cassette does not have good quality sound. Mar 22, 2008
If the quality of the sound on the cassette was better I would have rated it 5 stars. I teach high functioning children with autism ages 7-11. They enjoyed the songs but it was difficult to make out the words at times because of the quality of the tape. I do not know if I just got a bad cassette or they all sound that way.
My 7 year old learned all his states!!! May 17, 2004
I purchased this cd through a book club and put it in our car to listen to on the way to school. In a very short time, my 7 year old learned all his states & is well on his way to learning his capitals. My 4 year old has amazed us all by picking up most of the states as well. The lyrics are set to tunes most kids would already know (such as "Yankee Doodle") so they don't have to spend time learning the music and can jump right into the lyrics (ie state names.) It's a terrific educational tool!!!
Fun in Learning States and Capitals Jun 27, 2000
This book is an excellent way for children to learn their stttes and capitals. It's fun way with music and rhythem is excellent. As a teacher, I use it in my classroom with third, fourth, and fifth graders and they enjoy it and can tell you any state or capital. Geography is important in education and this is a great book to start your children off with for learning.
