If you're looking for a CD to help you worship, meditate on Christ, sing along with, this is it!! An older but classic album! Highly recommend.

I recently replaced this CD, my original one had gotten scratched. I was very pleased to be able to find this one again. It is so comfomting and uplifting. I first heard it while doing labor support for an expectant mother. She had brought it with her to the hospital as part of her relaxation and focusing music. I have never forgotten it and still view it as an important part of my worship.
Excellent, incredible songs, but I give it 4 stars Apr 25, 2001
Some of the tracks on this album I would definitely give 5 (or 6!) stars such as "Joy of the Lord", "Arise My Soul Arise" and "Keeper of the Door", but overall, I give it 4 stars. Why? This is one of her few albums where I fast forward through tracks, and the ones I skip are the instrumentals, especially of her classics "We Bow Down", "Lamb of God" and "We Will Glorify". I already have other albums with instrumental versions of Twila's songs; when I buy a Twila Paris album I want to hear her vocals! The instrumentals are done very well, but still her songs lose a lot without vocals and the lyrics (and frankly my voice singing along doesn't bring justice to the music nearly as well as Twila's!). I do like to hear different versions of her songs (like the Portugese "He is Exalted") so she could have resung those tracks with new arrangements, tempos etc. There are only eight tracks here with new lyrics from Twila, 14 total - 4 instrumentals - 1 translation ("Ele E Exaltado") - 1 cover (Charles Wesley's "Arise My Soul Arise"). That doesn't seem fair!
Is this CD worth having? Without a doubt it is. Taking the tracks as individual pieces to be used in a worship setting, each of these tracks is wonderful (yes, even the instrumentals). As an album, though, think what it could have been with more new material or vocal arrangements on it. It could have been, well, as good as "Perennial" (it only had one instrumental and it was a new composition, and had uplifting vocal covers of both her earlier songs and traditional hymns)! But this was her first in her "Sanctuary Series". These all seem to be getting better as she adds a new volume to her series (her 2001 release "Bedtime Prayers" is wonderful as well.)
Profound yet peaceful Mar 17, 2001
This is a marvelous album from Twila Paris. It is very relaxing to listen to, and very uplifting.
Those of you who are familiar with Twila's praise and worship music will enjoy the instrumental versions of "We Bow Down", "Lamb of God", and "We Will Glorify". Her Spanish version of "He is Exalted" is wonderful!
The first track is instrumental and very very beautiful. My favorite track on this album is "Joy of the Lord" - what a gem this song is!
Oftentimes, people listen to the first half of a CD and never get around to listening to the last few songs. Make sure you enjoy this entire CD - "Keeper of the Door" is one of the best ones!
Twila is anticipating the arrival of her first child - check out her newest album (to be released on March 27, 2001) "Bedtime Prayers, Lullabies and Peaceful Worship". She wrote the songs on this album before she became pregnant! God bless you and your husband and your new little boy during this special time!

Twila's most exquisitely profound album Jan 9, 2001
This album is my favorite of Twila's. The music is serene and sincere--perfect for quiet spiritual moments. The words are deep, almost a Bible study in themselves. "Lamb of God," is a a presentation of the plan of salvation--so simple and beautiful. My favorite song on this album is "Keeper of the Door." Any christian should make this anthem the theme of their life--to be a servant to others and dwell in the presence of God. The whole album flows well and has a reverent feel--a pleasure to listen to--this one is definately a keeper!
