Item description for Vogue Knitting on the Go: Felting (Vogue Knitting on the Go!) by Trisha Malcolm...
Felting--or boiling a knit item so it shrinks and the fibers mesh together--yields amazingly durable, beautiful pieces with unusual textures. It's the perfect technique for beginners because many mistakes just disappear during the washing process. With this new entry in the popular Vogue: Knitting on the Go series, knitters can get in on this increasingly popular technique and make more than 20 stylish projects. An introduction explains all the knitting basics and felting fundamentals, from yarn selection to blocking and finishing the final product, and there's a wide variety of great things to create. Knit a flower clutch bag, baby blanket, pillows, a snake toy, beret, tea cozy, slippers, scarves, multicolored mittens, and more.

A bit disappinting... Mar 22, 2007
I only liked a couple of the designs in this book, unfortunately. I was expecting a better variety and more stylish things from a Vogue knitting book. Many of these designs are very frivolous--not what I was looking for at all. There are a couple of cute bags, slippers, etc, but there are way better felting pattern books out there.

Cute little book. While some of the items aren't anything I would be interested in, The item I have made had easy to follow instructions.
Fun felting! Jan 10, 2007
Cute projects. Easy to follow directions. I'll make many items in this book.
A "Knit it all-book" Jul 26, 2006
The book just arrived today. Staying for lazy days in our summer house by the Sognefiord (Norway), I could read the book at once. I know that I am going to knit ALL the patterns in this book, just as I have done with the patterns in the other books in the small Vogue Knitting-books. My small grandchildren liked the Tea Cosy on front page with all the nice buttons. They thought it was a hat. Of course I can knit hats like that. I have started to sort out the wool yarn in my stash and will start tomorrow.
a keeper! Jul 19, 2006
As a life long knitter and spinner, I'm always on the lookout for the new and unusual, but am very particular about what I actually buy. Vogue's little felting book is a winner. Clear directions, creative ideas, and a new look for my knitting projects - what could be better. Highly recommended for the crafter who wants to take it up a level.
