Reviews - What do customers think about Ministry Between Miracles?
Good text book Jul 28, 2006
Unashamedly Pentecostal/Charismatic, Mathew offers insight drawn from years of experience and training. Mathew carefully provides a broad review of the benefits of healthy pastoral care. The 8th chapter is worth the price of the book as Mathew effectively proposes "A Spirit-Led Model for Pastoral Care."
Although Clinical Pastoral Education has in many ways positively impacted the manner in which pastors are trained for ministry, many schools offering CPE training advocate a decidedly liberal agenda that attacks the sensibilities of Pentecostal pastors. Unlike much of the wierdness found in CPE, Mathew's balanced views are welcome and very helpful.
I would also recommend the better-written Thomson's better-written book - Spirit-Led Ministry in the 21st Century.
