Reviews - What do customers think about Fifth Seal (A.D. Chronicles V5)?
Great reading Jan 12, 2007
I have read all of the AD Chronicles. I have enjoyed all of them but I believe the first two were the best. The Fifth Seal was a great reading experience. The authors take great pains to transport the reader back to the time and place of the ancient Judea. Their characters are very human and easy to identify with. You find yourselves wondering how it will work out even though this is the Christmas nativity story and your sure Jesus will be born in the stable in Bethlehem.
Bodie Thoene Excellent as Always Jan 9, 2007
I have been reading Bodie Thoene's books for over 15 years...they are always wonderful but the A.D. Chronicles are the best ever....every one seems able to top the last one...very unusual...and after Fifth Seal, the Birth of Christ will be more real and more treasured than ever in my life and I am 64...you will never see Christmas the same...Beautiful!!!
A Seal of Approval for the Fith Seal Jan 9, 2007
The Thoene's take on a BIG subject in this novel: the birth of Christ. However, by staying close to the Biblical text and the character of the participants, they are able to give us a new and revealing look at the human side of this story. Joseph is not a sidebar in this novel. He is a real, breathing person with concerns and problems that many of us could not handle. Yet, through the supernatural intervention of God, He is able to realize the significance of his part in the birth of the Messiah. And, Mary also displays her personality in this book, plus, she shows her complete faith in God by submitting to His will for the birth of Jesus. The other characters are equally as well written, and I recomend this book to anyone.
Fifth Seal OK Jan 9, 2007
Reading Fifth Seal was a blessing because it is about Jesus. The Thoenes write good books. But I am afraid they have fallen for the temptation to stretch a good story out in order to sell books. When I read Fourth Dawn I could tell where the story was going; I am just sorry it is taking so many books for the "flashback". In my opinion it could have been one book. Hopefully they will get us back to the story line that will put Jesus on the cross and then the celebration of His resurrection. I eagerly look forward to how that will impact the lives of all the characters I have grown to "love" over the last few years. The way the Thoenes have used Jewish traditions and historical information in the Zion Chronicles and A.D. Chronicles is awesome.
Awesome Jan 4, 2007
I'm a big fan of the Thoene's, and this book was no exception. They are excellent writers. This book gets you thinking about the real people of the account of Christ's birth. Who they were, what they felt, and how they lived. I'd recommend this book to anyone.
