Reviews - What do customers think about Paris Encore (Zion Covenant V8)?
Paris Encore (Zion Covenant) Mar 9, 2007
I really like the style that the Thoene's use in their writing and I also enjoy reading historical fiction (especially Christian based ones). I was a little disappointed that most of the main characters from the first seven books are not really in this one, but it does lay down the first plank of the bridge between this series of books and their next series. Once again, I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next in this series (Dunkirk Crescendo (the last in this series)), to see how it will further build on the bridge to the next series.
Paris Encore - What a letdown! Jul 12, 2005
Before I begin I have to tell you that I've been an ardent fan of the Zion Covenant series (and for the most part all of the Thoene's books) since I was a child. That said, I was tremendously excited to find out there were some new additions to the Zion Covenant series.
The advertising for this book clearly states that it is a "Director's Cut" interspersing the story line of 1994's Twilight of Courage with some new dialogue and characters. Except what they should have told you is Paris Encore is 95% Twilight of Courage and 5% new material. Boy was I disappointed! I spend the majority of my time on this book flipping through the parts of the story I've already read (I've owned The Twilight of Courage since it was originally published)and found, to my deep dismay, there was VERY little new material.
In all honesty the three additions to the Zion Covenant series could have been compiled into two books and then I wouldn't have had to spend more money to buy a book I already own.
