Teresa Adele Bettino was born in East Orange, New Jersey. She was raised in the West Trenton area of New Jersey, graduating from Ewing High School and Trenton State College. Teresa began a career in social work as a VISTA volunteer in Richmond, Virginia. She resides with her husband, Don, and son, Joseph, on a mini-farm in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Other members of her family are horses, dogs, cats, birds and a beloved guinea pig.
