Item description for The Jerusalem Diet: The "One-day" Approach to Reach Your Ideal Weight - And Stay There by Ted Haggard & Larry Gee...
The human body is beautifully and wonderfully designed to thrive on a variety of foods. That's why restrictive diets and trendy eating plans rarely result in long-term success. The Jerusalem Diet, by contrast, offers a remarkably simple and flexible plan that frees readers to relax and enjoy life, working steadily toward their ideal weight without giving up the foods they love. In this hope-filled book, mega-church Pastor Ted Haggard reveals the details of the Jerusalem Diet, so named because, out of personal frustration--"My pants were too tight "--he started practicing this simple eating plan with immediate results during a 1998 trip to Israel. And he shares the dramatic, life-transforming changes others experienced when they, too, adopted this practical, guilt-free approach to healthy eating. Free of gimmicks and radical demands, The Jerusalem Diet requires only a digital scale, a calendar, and a willingness to "lighten up"--physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Readers will learn to manage their weight one day at a time, one pound at a time, without guilt or starvation techniques.

Im Lovin' It Jul 26, 2007
This diet is doing wonders for me and it is so simple. Day One(Fat Day) ~181 Lbs~ Day Two(Reg. Day) ~176.8~ Day Three(Fat Day) ~175.6
3 Days and Lost 5.4 Pounds. I know it will slower down but this diet is so simple and so much fun to do and dont have to worry about counting calories and measuring portions.
Good diet Nov 5, 2006
Regardless of his other problems I think this diet is very doable. Who can't loose 1 lb a week. With this plan you don't have to be obcessed with what you are eating. You just have to be careful.
I Have Hope! Sep 6, 2006
I have tried years of dieting, exercise, read and tried all the major diet books, you name it, and I when I heard Ted Haggard speak in Boston in February, I was very skeptical. One more diet book, I thought. I went ahead and purchased it anyway, and it took me two months to even open the cover. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down! I read until 2:00 am and began to cry. I felt hope for the first time in years that this was the answer to my struggle. Well, it's been 5 months, and I have lost 36 lbs and my husband has lost 20! I feel I can live with this plan for the rest of my life and continue to lose the weight I need to lose. It has been an answer to my prayers.
NOT REALLY A DIET, A LIFESTYLE CHANGE Aug 10, 2006
The book was an easy read and very easy to understand with only a few main points to follow to get you on your way to a new slimmer you!!! I enjoyed all the stories and antedots but most of all I enjoy the new me!! Thank you Ted for this wonderful new way to look at eating, enjoy it to the max and live one day at a time while learning to discipline yourself. If you are looking for quick results stay away but if you are looking for a new, better way of life then get this book, you will love yourself for it.
Liked the book and the concept Jul 31, 2006
I needed a "diet" that I could live with and still enjoy food. Although the author is not an expert in dieting or nutrition, he gave me the incentive to monitor my weight on a daily basis, exercise daily, control my food intake on "fat days" and basically commit to eating right and making healthy choices. I can say that I have lost thirteen pounds because of this "life style change" over a two month time and didn't have to starve myself or eat unfamiliar, hard to find or hard to make foods. I still can eat my favorites like chocolate covered raisons and not feel guilty about it. I just know that I'll probably have to commit to a "fat day" if I pig out too much. I now know when to cut myself off. All I can say is that the author suggests you read other diet books and take the good out of every book you read. My best advice from all the books I've read is what we all hate to hear but, eat less, exercise more and make more healthy food choices like fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Until they come out with a miracle weight loss pill a life style change is all that's really going to work. This book was my miracle and I'll continue to recommend it to anyone who will listen.
