More About Ted Dekker

Ted Dekker Ted Dekker (born October 24, 1962) is a New York Times best-selling author of more than twenty novels. He is best known for stories which could be broadly described as suspense thrillers with major twists and unforgettable characters, though he has also made a name for himself among fantasy fans.

Dekker was born to missionaries who lived among the headhunter tribes of Indonesia. Because his parents’ work often included extended periods of time away from their children, Dekker describes his early life in a culture to which he was a stranger as both fascinating and lonely. It is this unique upbringing that forced him to rely on his own imagination to create a world in which he belonged.

After leaving Indonesia, Dekker graduated from a multi-cultural high school and took up permanent residence in the United States to study Philosophy and Religion. Upon earning his Bachelor’s Degree, he entered the corporate world and proceeded to climb the proverbial ladder. But his personal drive left him restless and, after many successful years, he traded corporate life for wide range of entrepreneurial pursuits that included buying and selling businesses, healthcare services, and marketing. In the early nineties while visiting a friend who had just written a book, Dekker decided to pursue a long held desire to be a novelist. Over the course of two years he wrote two full length novels before starting from scratch and rewriting both. Now fully enamored by the the process and the stories, he realized that storytelling was in his blood and a new obsession to explore truth through story gripped him anew.

He sold his business, moved his family to the mountains of Western Colorado and began writing full-time on his third novel. Two years and three novels later his first novel was published. Dekker’s novels have sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Two of his novels, Thr3e and House, have been made into movies with more in production. Dekker resides in Austin, Texas with his wife Lee Ann and two of their daughters.

Reviews - What do customers think about White (The Circle Trilogy, Book 3) (The Lost History Chronicles)?

I came away much richer for these three books  Apr 20, 2008
Redemption became much clearer but I wasn't quite prepared to face sacrificial love. I came away much richer for having completed this trilogy.

Nice ending...  Apr 20, 2008
After a big lead up to White it deviates some away from what Red did. It focuses on the fantasy world big time. Alot of romance but the action tends to come when things get too mushy. This one like Red is spiritual. Rarely is there action in the real world. Not a whole lot of action but it was entertaining. The ending sets up a spinoff series which is ok. I like it if a series can continue. Very good series.
White By Ted Dekker  Mar 27, 2008
This is an excellent third book in this trilogy series. I have enjoyed all of Ted's books but this series has been my favorite so far.
I'm not a Christian, still loved it.   Oct 24, 2007
Despite some storytelling weaknesses in the first book of this series "Black" I was captivated enough to move onto "Red." By the time I'd finished the second book I was completely hooked, my only reservation being that perhaps the author was jam-packing too many ingredients into the mix.

As I write this review, having just completed the third book "White" what comes to mind is the sheer scope of this series. It's one heck of an accomplishment. As the story of two worlds/dimensions/realities continues "White" yields new elements, the best of which is a forbidden love. Author Dekker paints a terrific canvas here. For the most part the ill-fated love story kept me from feeling that the saga was beginning to drag, that too much journey was being developed at the expense of the light at the end of the tunnel. Still, whenever I was beginning to get a little antsy, another of Dekker's plot twists would rekindle my reading fire. Ultimately, my rating of "White" is a rating of the series. Definitely worth reading. Into the Abyss
