Overview When bad thoughts and fears keep Racquel from going to sleep, Grandma Kathy helps Racquel see that God is always with her, even alone in the dark.
Publishers Description Racquel cannot get to sleep. Bad thoughts are waiting in the dark -- everything from whether Mom and Dad will like their trip so much they won't come back, to whether the Ugly Buglies will sneak out to nibble on Racquel's bare toes Grandma Kathy doesn't know how to help, until an angel tells her in a dream, "Sometimes when people put their hands together to pray, they need something between them to hold onto". Inspired by this message, Grandma Kathy makes Racquel a very special gift, an angel doll that reminds her she's never truly alone.
This gentle story of love is for every child who needs a bit of comfort in the night and every adult who wants to help. The soothing, perfect-for-bedtime text is accompanied by magical illustrations -- strikingly detailed pen-and-ink drawings colored with lush pastel hues.

Reviews - What do customers think about Sleepy Angel's First Bedtime Story?
a true blessing Mar 11, 2004
Since recieving this book as a wonderful gift for my daughter, my night time ritual has changed dramatically. My daughter Elaina, now 7 has slept with me since 3 months old. I know my fault! Since June 2001 I have been trying everything I could think of to get her to sleep in her own room without making her feel rejected or like she did something wrong that now its no longer ok to sleep with Mommy. I read her this book upon reciept of the gift and gave her the angel doll that night. That was 3 months ago. She loves the concept and trusts in God and the angel keeps her safe in her own bed. She has been in her bed in her room since that day I read her the book.
