Reviews - What do customers think about Bead Fantasies III: Still More Beautiful, Easy-to-Make Jewelry (Bead Fantasies)?
What a beautiful book! Jun 10, 2008
This is the first book from this series that I purchased, and I plan on buying the others as soon as I can. The designs and photography are stunning!! At first glance, I thought there were too many "stitching" project (which I'm not good at). But after more review, the stitching part is often a minor part of the design, and done with beading wire rather than needle/thread. (Except for some of the 15 or so ring designs) The designs are mostly simple and elegant, and combine beautiful combinations of stones and crystals, with stunning colorways. No "chunky" designs here.
Each project is followed by a colored line diagram that is just superb! For some of the projects there are even variations shown with different beads. There's a nice little "Basics" technique section in the back with wonderfully detailed photos.
This book makes me want to drive straight to my local bead store!
Inspiring beaded designs Feb 10, 2008
The third in the series, this book contains unique and inspiring designs for woven and strung jewelry. I love the process of weaving a motif and, when finishing off, seeing the beads snap together into a beautiful flower or design. While I have not made as many projects from this book as others in the Bead Fantasy series, I find the photos very inspiring for creating color combinations.
Bead Fantasies III Oct 13, 2007
I have three other books by this author, and this one was the least interesting to me, so I sent it back. I'd especially recommend II and IV, and the first book is good, too. The author has some new ideas for using beads.
pretty pictures Aug 27, 2007
The Bead Fantasies are chock full of pretty pictures, sure to fire up the imagination. The directions sometimes lose a little in translation. These books are NOT FOR BEGINNERS!
I highly recommend this series Jul 18, 2007
If you're a serious beader, then this series is a must have. The designs in this book are totally different than your typical bead books. There's quite a few challenging designs that will leave you feeling satisfied once the projects are complete. I wish there were more bead design books like this one!
