Item description for Live in San Diego by Switchfoot...
Overview Switchfoot - San Diego's genre-busting rules-breaking rock band - took the stage at the fabled punk rock venue Soma to give the group's hardcore hometown fans the kind of show that legends are made of. Pulling together a scorching set of tunes from The Beautiful Letdown, the band's breakthrough album, Switchfoot delivered a full-throttle performance of the anthemic melodic rock 'n' roll that's made them one of the most sought-after bands on the alt-rock circuit. You can experience all the power of the magical night including amazing performances of the hits "Meant To Live" and "Dare You To Move" on Live In San Diego, Switchfoot's brand-new DVD release. As an added bonus, Live In San Diego takes Switchfoot fans behind the scences of the "Meant To Live" video shoot with an exclusive and candid interview with the band. Wheather you're deep into Switchfoot or just finding out what the Switchfoot buzz is all about, Live In San Diego is the perfect introduction to one of the most exciting musical phenomena on today's alternative music scene. Reviews - What do customers think about Live in San Diego?
Not without flaws May 24, 2010
Good sound, good selection of their library, OK video, ??? presentation. The lead singer sure was sweating A LOT! You'd think he would have done something about it, used a towel or something.
Excellent!! Jul 6, 2009

Switchfoot "Live in San Diego" = An Outstanding "Contemporary Christian Rock/Crossover to Pop" Concert DVD!!!!!! Apr 23, 2009
Switchfoot is simply outstanding in this concert dvd. This concert features songs from their breakthrough album CD "The Beautiful Letdown". This album had songs that crossed over into the mainstream "Pop" music scene. Some highlights include the "smash hits" - "Meant to Live", "Dare You to Move", "More Than Fine", & "Gone". It consists of 11 total songs with an approximate running time of 68 minutes. During the concert the band "testifies" about how great it is to be "saved". I can definitely related to this because, I am a Christian, and I'm very thankful to be "saved".
Plus, You get substantial bonus material including the "Meant to Live" Music Video, and "Behind the Scenes" material. I highly recommend this concert dvd, plus the related ones by "Contemporary Christian Rock Bands" of "Jars of Clay", "Stryper" and "Third Day". Switchfoot has toured with some of these other bands and they are included in the lastest DVD/CD Combo of Third Day's "Live Revelations" Tour (Please See My Review of That One Also). Anyway, thanks for reading my review and May God Bless!!!!
Switchfoot Live in San Diego Aug 24, 2007
Great music, but the sound quality could be better. The volume is weak and it doesn't really have a nice full sound. This band and music this good deserves a much better recording.
....the point of a live album is the crowd - don't mute them out! Mar 2, 2007
The point of getting a live DVD of Switchfoot as opposed to their perfected, mixed recordings is to hear the crowds complement the band's passionate music with THEIR energy, but the way the sound is mixed on this DVD makes Switchfoot seem like they're high on their music while the wild, jumping crowds you see in the background are just...silent. I always say that Switchfoot is a band meant to be seen live (you'll never hear their songs the same way again when you do), but, sadly, this DVD does not quite capture the energy they have when they perform for an audience. If you're still hung over from a live show, or want to see a bit of the real thing, bootlegs of their performances are available (...even official bootlegs!), and I believe those echo the energy of Switchfoot much better than this. I have all of the band's albums and I've seen them live twice (twice only because I was blown away by the first, which I actually almost did not go to because I thought the venue was a bit too far and not worth my energy--thank goodness I was wrong, because it turned out to be an experience of a lifetime), and even now I'm still certain I will continue to see them again and again and yet again in the future. Just not on this DVD.
