Reviews - What do customers think about A Complete Guide to Writing for Publication?
A solid, well written and easy to read guide Aug 13, 1999
A Complete Guide to Writing for Publication is a well conceived book featuring excellent advise for those who desire to write for publication. There really is something for everyone and the information on different genres was excellent. Susan did a great job of including respected writers within the Christian field. I am a relatively new writer that has already had some success, and I can say that if people do read the book and follow the rules and examples they'll have an easier time of becoming a published author.
A great book for writers and would-be writers. May 4, 1999
As a journalist who is beginning to also write for the Christian market, I found this book extremely interesting and helpful. The chapters cover everything from praying for guidance, to how to make your manuscript more saleable to how to write for different markets (children, teens, romance, historical fiction, education, etc.). I especially enjoyed the chapter about how to write humor by James Watkins (who has some great humor in print!) and how to make a living as a freelance writer by Dennis Hensley. This book is a wonderful resource that I will refer to again and again.
