Guidelines for Leaders
Publishers Description Study Scripture with John Stott The beatitudes reveal to us eight qualities that bring God's blessing: meekness and mercy, poorness in spirit and purity of heart, mourning and hunger, peacemaking and persecution. Jesus highlighted these to offer both encouragement and instruction on living distinctly as his followers in a world with values much different from God's. As we study these qualities and integrate them into our lives, we will receive the blessing Jesus promised to his followers then and now. John Stott is one of the world's leading and most loved Bible teachers and preachers. In this guide you can explore Scripture under his guidance, enhancing your own in-depth study with insights gained from his years of immersion in God's Word.

The Beatitudes: Developing Spiritual Character Dec 12, 2009
The book is fine, but it is not what I thought it was. I was looking for more content than a question format. He raised a lot of questions but didn't give much information. Perhaps I misunderstood the originalpurpose. However, the questions are helpful and provides application. The teacher or leader would have to "dig" from several other sources to find the answers to the questions. At least the study would help the student relate the passage to his life (and hopefully the leader would have other sources from which to draw the content.)
Jesus Christ, Teacher, Servant and Saviour Oct 27, 2009
As always a Bible Study by John W.R. Stoot is an excellent study of the scriptures. I will use this as an in-depth personal study of Jesus Christ. There are addition resources for my study, however, this book and various Bible translations will form the heart of my study. The book challanges you to look at the teachings, life, and ministry of Jesus Christ. This study should allow you to have a greater knowledge of Jesus Christ, His life and ministry. The Bibical truths revealed should then be applied to our personal life. Wayne Bumgardner
Good Small Group Questions Oct 29, 2007
I was looking for a book that would require some Bible reading and alot of discussion for leading a Sunday School Class. With a little adaptation of the questions and commentary to fit our particular audience; this book has been really useful at it gets the class to think and talk about our Christian character. The questions are more suited to a personal, adult Bible reading and study, but the concepts and questions can be modified or reworded to different situations. I recommend this book.
