Item description for Messianic Judaism: A Modern Movement with an Ancient Past by David H. Stern...

Overview
In the first century of the Common Era, tens of thousands of Jewish people followed Yeshua (Jesus), believing him to be the promised Messiah of Israel. They didn't renounce their heritage, their customs, or their people. They remained Jews. Two thousand years later, hundreds of thousands of Jewish people follow Yeshua, also believing that he was the Messiah. They, too, have not renounced their heritage, customs or their people.

Publishers Description
?In the first century of the Common Era, tens of thousands of Jewish people followed Yeshua (Jesus), believing him to be the promised Messiah of Israel. They didn?t renounce their heritage, their customs, nor their people. They remained Jews. Two thousand years later, hundreds of thousands of Jewish people follow Yeshua, also believing that he is the Messiah. They, too, have not renounced their heritage, customs, nor their people. Reviews - What do customers think about Messianic Judaism?

Not worth the paper it's written on.  Oct 1, 2008
This book has nothing to do with the Jewish concept of the Messiah, it is meant to lure Jews that are vulnerable and not properly learned in their own religion in order to convert them into Christianity. Please take the time to learn about the "Disputation of Barcelona", either on Wikipedia or see the 1986 UK movie called " The Disputation".

Messianic Judiasm  May 21, 2008
This book is very informative about the Messianic Jewish movement. It also clarifies previous translations to give a new understanding of the Old and New Testament. It lends itself to a better understanding of what is taught in the Church as tradition versus what is the Word is really saying. A must read for Jews and Christians.

Readers be aware of controversy about this book  Oct 1, 2007
Potential readers should know that so-called "Messianic Judaism" is not regarded as authentic Jewish practice by the mainstream Jewish world. This book and others about "Messianic Judaism" espouse a belief in Jesus as savior and Messiah, which is a belief that is categorically rejected by Jews. Buyers should beware that the book they may be purchasing is not Jewish at all, but rather is a Christian book, despite the book's title and cover bearing a Jewish star.

A Last-Day Must for Survival  Jul 29, 2007
Top notch scholarship from a warm heart that exposes Biblical translation errors resulting from anti-Jewish prejudice and reveals the relevance of today's Middle-East conflict to the fullfillment of Biblical prophecy and the kingdom of God coming on earth. An absolute must for serious students of the Bible or the Tanakh.
