Item description for Devotion Explosion: What to Do When Your Quiet Time Becomes too Quiet by Stephen Schwambach...
wind blow through my own hair as our heroes sped down the byways of the Deep South. Like the banker I could simply close my eyes and be lifted like a cartoon character on the wafts of lilacs, and honeysuckle. I could feel the sticky air along the mighty River, and even hear the echo of cannons roar in the background. But more importantly, I hope that in just a little way, some of the customs and concepts held high in traditional Judaism will become easier to understand and comprehend, by the non-Jewish reader.
It is our hope and outline to use this series of books to present religious activities across America in its day-to-day setting. Real people walk the aisles along with our fictional characters. It is also to the best of my knowledge the first attempt ever made to put in a modern American setting many of the concepts modern religion calls Jewish 'apocryphal'. We hope to present what one of my Christian friends jokingly labels, as Hal Lindsey meeting Elijah in the Delta.
This series will give you a new appreciation of America and each other. That is my prayer. Shalom.

Rejuvenated Reading!!! Mar 27, 2001
My wife and I have read the book. Reading this book gave me a renewed hunger for the book - the Bible. I'll be writing out the book of Hebrews and cannot wait to listen for what God will speak to me in this time!!! As college missionaries, we will also be recommending this approach to the college students we reach out to and we eagerly look forward to the impact it will make in their lives!!!
Funny, yet fundamentally sound. Mar 5, 1999
Schwambach points you to the Word of God, which is what any true teacher, preacher, prophet would do if true to the Word. I was delighted with his friendly light-hearted approach to the reader. This made it a quick study for me and I am recommending it to all my friends.
Humorous, new incredible approach to studying God's Word!!!! Apr 30, 1998
Stephen Schwambach uses humor and experience to share a new way to study God's Word by writing out the actual Bible itself. Having tried it myself, it does actually bring the Scriptures to life in a way that just reading it never has. A must for any Christian desiring to become addicted to spending daily time with the Lord studying HIs word!!!
