"What's for dinner?"
If the sound of those three words sends you reeling or, worse, straight to the nearest fast-food chain or take-out joint, then relax. Dream Dinners will change all that forever.
With their new cookbook, Stephanie Allen and Tina Kuna, founders of Dream Dinners, bring the successful philosophy behind their hundreds of assemble-and-freeze-meal stores across America into home kitchens. Dream Dinners offers up one hundred recipes for flavorful meals made with easy-to-find ingredients.
The premise is simple: Scoop or pour ingredients into baking pans or plastic bags, then store the uncooked dishes in the freezer. Later in the week or month, when dinnertime rolls around, just pop one of the frozen meals into the oven. Each recipe is provided two ways: One, prepare just one meal for the night, or two, prepare enough for three meals and freeze the other two. Dinner after sports practice, music lessons, and play rehearsals has never been easier!
In addition to recipes for hearty, family-pleasing classics such as Baked Pesto Ravioli with Chicken, Beef and Zucchini Casserole, and Cider-Braised Pork Loin Chops, Stephanie and Tina give a wealth of time-saving shopping tips and cooking pointers. More than for convenience, eating dinner together provides benefits for the whole family. Study after study shows that mealtime matters. Families who dine together form stronger bonds, and kids get better grades and develop lifelong healthful eating habits. Dream Dinners makes it easy for families to gather around the dinner table and share the ups and downs of the day.
With Dream Dinners, you will spend less time stressing in the kitchen and more time connecting with family and friends.

Reviews - What do customers think about Dream Dinners: Turn Dinnertime into Family Time with 100 Assemble-and-Freeze Meals?
Bravo! A Great Resource Mar 29, 2007
Busy mothers, rejoice. Dinner is served - or almost, anyway. Using the innovative assemble-and-freeze method developed by the founders of the Dream Dinners stores around the country, even the busiest of cooks can learn how to pour ingredients into plastic bags and freeze them, then cook as needed. Whether for breakfast, dinner, parties or dessert, just a few hours in the kitchen will yield weeks of hassle-free meals.
I would have liked to see more photos and graphics (they're always appreciated with cookbooks), but still, this is a fantastic resource. Bravo!
A Dream Recipe Cookbook! Mar 26, 2007
I've been to the Dream Dinner stores to prepare meals & wanted to see whether I could prepare similar meals on my own. And the answer is yes! The recipes allow you to make 1, 2, or 3 meals at a time. You may cook or freeze any combination of the recipes. Instructions for cooking the frozen meals are included. Preparing for dinnertime or entertaining has never been so easy!
Despite reviews, I like it! Mar 14, 2007
My sister and I started doing our own Dream Dinner sessions at home for half the price that we would have spent if we went to the actual facility. We are able to make 12 meals in 3-4 hours for each month and I have found most of them to be good. They are not absolutely incredible, but are ideal for everyday dinners. The only one that we have made so far that was inedible was the cider braised pork chops. We loved the ravioli with chicken and pesto sauce and the chicken cordon bleu. We are starting our second month and it seems even better than the first. I am finding that the casserole dishes are often best when it comes to frozen meals. As for the instructions, I haven't found it to be ambiguous but that may be because my sister has done dream dinners for years so she is able to answer any questions.
Disappointed with quality of book and recipes Mar 10, 2007
I've been to Dream Dinners and my family liked the meals. This cookbook has helped me do a lot more freezer cooking, which is nice as a busy mom of 5. However, I am continually disappointed by the sloppy nature of this cookbook-it seems like they just threw it together. There are numerous errors in the recipes, and the directions are sometimes vague. I do cook a lot and was able to spot many of these, but it is still frustrating. Many of the recipes are very good, but just as many are poor. If you are looking for a "best of " Dream Dinners, this is not it. I do use the book a lot, and often use it as a reference on how to multiply and freeze some of my other favorite recipes. A good book which I would recommend, but not really what it should be.
A good selection of meals Jan 28, 2007
I have attended the various Dream Dinner sessions and the recipes in the book are exact replicas of what I have made there. Examples are: Cider Braised Pork Chops, Slow-cooked Barbeque Beef, etc. The meals are easy to do and a nice variety when you want something that tastes good and is easy to prepare after a long day at work. I have tried a few other freezer preparation meal cookbooks and this is by far one of the better cookbook choices. A great addition for those that like to do freezer cooking would be the Freezer Cooking Manual and the kitchen calculator as you can adjust the recipe portion size accurately and easily.
