Item description for The Berenstain Bears and the In-Crowd (First Time Books(R)) by Stan Berenstain & Jan Berenstain...

Overview
A rich new cub named Queenie McBear teases Sister Bear and steals her Double-Dutch partners away before the big tournament.

Publishers Description
Queenie McBear, the bossy new she-cub in town, tries to take over by putting other cubs down. But she's in for a lesson when Sister Bear decides not to give in to Queenie's peer pressure tactics.
Stan and Jan Berenstain were both born in 1923 in Philadelphia.  They didn't know each other as children, but met later at school, at the Philadelphia College of Art.  They liked each other right away, and found out that the both enjoyed the same kinds of books, plays, music and art.  During World War II, Stan was a medical assistant in the Army, and Jan worked in an airplane factory.  When the war was over, they got married and began to work together as artists and writers, primarily drawing cartoons for popular magazines.  After having their two sons Leo and Michael, the Berenstains decided to write some funny children's books that their children and other children could read and enjoy.  Their first published children's book was called The Big Honey Hunt .  It was about a family of bears, who later became known as the "Berenstain Bears".

Over 50 children's books later, Stan and Jan still plan all of their books together -- both write the stories, and both write the pictures.  They live outside of Philadelphia in the country.

Reviews - What do customers think about The Berenstain Bears and the In-Crowd (First Time Books(R))?

Good book  May 12, 2008
This line of books helps with the life lessons you try to impart to your kids.

A Bit Old For 4  Feb 25, 2006
My son automatically LOVES anything Berenstain Bears, but this book was a bit old for him (not to mention girly)

A book that teaches you self confidence  Aug 12, 2005
This book tells the story of sister bear when she meets a young cub that recently arrived to town. This new cub is a little annoying, and at first it makes sister sad.
But she finally realizes that with self confidence, she can be herself, and have good times with her real friends.
My 4 year old loves it.

In-Crowed  Jul 21, 2001
When a new hip cub moves into town everyone is amazed by her. They start dressing like her, acting like her etc etc. Sister is the only one who is not in the "in-crowed" what is she to do?

This book teachs kids that you don't need to dress a certain way or act a certain way just to be liked.

A Wonderful Book  Aug 2, 2000
This is such a great book. It shows little kids that no matter what there is always good in people. Even if they don't show it right away.
