Best study tool ever Jan 30, 2007
I really love the NASB Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible. It's very complete and thorough for those serious to study the bible without having a comprehensive background in Hebrew or Greek. Many key words are referenced in both the Old and New Testaments for the reader to find out what that word means exactly in it's original language.
With this knowledge, the reader gets a much better understanding of the original context to understand what that verse or verses really mean in their original context. This is a bible that no one who calls themselves a true believer should be without. It will take your bible reading and understanding to a completely new level. My only regret is that I wish I would have had this 8 years ago when I first became a Christian. The NASB is also truer to the original language so it is much more precise.

As I learn more about the Bible, I find more I want to study. It's funny that way. It's the only book simple enough to be understood by all, but complex enough that scholars can devote their whole lives to its study and not come close to plumbing its depths.
This Bible supplements my NASB Hebrew Greek Key Study Bible. I like the literal NASB for word studies, but also like to have a thought-for-thought translation that helps with understanding. I have the hardback version of this Bible.
All the awesome grammatical tools are present, except for a few differences, such as the dictionary being that of Kohlenberger, instead of the Strong's Dictionary, which is present in the NASB version.
What this Bible contains: Bible text of OT and NT Several Grammatical aids Guides to Transliteration for Hebrew and Greek Lexical aids to the OT and NT NIV Concordance of OT and NT Scripture index to footnotes and intodcutions Kohlenberger's Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek Dictionaries Index of Strong to Kohlenberger numbers, and Kohlenberger to Strong numbers Maps
Pros: - Kohlenberger's dictionaries provide modern scholarship of Greek that is much more helpful than the Strong's dictionary in the NASB and KJV versions of this study Bible. - There are key notes that are usually extremely helpful and consistent with conservative, exegetical scholarship - The cross references are very beneficial - Despite this being a different and complicated system of notation, visual layout of the features on a two-page section in the front of the Bible make it easy to learn to use.
Cons: - This is a thought-for-thought version of the Bible and is not the best suited Bible for word studies. A supplement with an NASB or other literal Bible would be helpful.
In deciding between the NASB and NIV versions of this extremely valuable study tool, I am torn. On the one hand, you have the literal text of the NASB 1977 version but with Strong's dictionary. On the other hand, you have the thought-for-thought NIV Bible that is harder to do word studies in because of the way it is translated, but you have the Kohlenberger dictionaries, which are much more valuable for word study. This makes it very difficult to choose.
Overall, this is an outstanding tool for study and I would recommend adding it to your library of Christian study aids.

Amazing Bible study tool Jan 11, 2007
This bible study aid is the best way to gain an insight into Gods word. The Greek and Hebrew dictionaries and lexical aids allow you to explore the original language and meaning of the Bibles authors. You will find so many layers of information that you never knew were there. Only a GOOD bible commentary by Greek and Hebrew scholars can provide deeper knowledge. I still haven't found a need for all the tools.
