Reviews - What do customers think about Spanish (Language 30)?
Not worth buying Aug 11, 2007
I borrowed this from the library. There is not much to it -- just vocabulary words and phrases, and there often isn't enough time to repeat the phrases. There are two Hispanic speakers, and the male often does not pronounce the "s" in words (which is common in a few countries). It's rather irritating, since a person not familiar with the words would have to be looking at the booklet in order to know when there's supposed to be an "s" in a word.

Waste of money for a biginner!Do a search on fun language spanish if you are going to mexico! One star is because you have to give it at least one. To much to pay for a small hard frisbe!

I found the method of saying the item in English and then twice in the foreign language with enough space in between for the listener to repeat it in the foreign language is a great way to learn or review a language. And I can follow along with the book so I can get the grammar and spelling as I go.
My wife told me that if we were flying to a country that spoke a language we didn't understand, I could study the language on the plane and step off the plane speaking the language. With Language 30, I think I could do that!
Not a way to learn Jun 8, 2005
This pack is a talking phrase book. You hear the phrase in English, and then twice in Spanish. There is not really time for you to repeat the phrase before we are on to the next one. There is nothing to sustain your interest, the different sections are quite long, and the phrases are quite complicated. There is no intereaction between the product and you. As a learning tool for a beginner, this product is virtually useless. A plus point is that you hear native speakers of the language. The product certainly does not live up to the blurb on the cover. Had I known what it was like, I would not have bought it - i would advise you not to waste your money on it.
Not worth it! Jun 3, 2004
I checked this out from my local library, as one of only two available audio programs for learning Spanish. If you are interested in learning to parrot common phrases this may be appropriate, but if you'd like to actually build some comprehension, look elsewhere. This would be the "bang your head against a wall until you learn something" method of learning Spanish. Not recommended at all!
