Reviews - What do customers think about A Trinitarian Covenantal Theology of the Church?

Author's Comment  May 26, 2001
The Christian Church faces many challenges today that threaten to disrupt its life and mission. This book is a biblically based appraisal of the trinitarian ecclesiology of John Zizioulas and Jurgen Moltmann. It examines the concepts of personhood and eucharist that Zizioulas use to develop his idea of the Holy Trinity and the Church. It studies the concepts of promise and of the history of the Trinity that Moltmann use for his idea of the Church. It proposes that the Church is a creation of the Holy Trinity through the biblical covenants. The covenants of the Bible culminate in the New Testament trinitarian covenant where the Father covenants with the Son. This perspective give rise to a comprehensive and in-depth ecclesiology that is able to include the best of both Zizioulas and Moltmann.
