Publishers Description In October 1810 a twenty-year-old girl in the quiet New England town of Bradford wrote the following words in her journal: 'If nothing in providence appears to prevent, I must spend my days in a heathen land. I am a creature of God, and he has un undoubted right to do with me, as seems good in his sight...He has my heart in his hands, and when I am called to face danger, to pass through scenes of terror and distress, he can inspire me with fortitude, and enable me to trust in him. Jesus is faithful; his promises are precious. Were it not for these considerations, I should sink down with despair. Ann Hasseltine had received a proposal of marriage from Adoniram Judson, who was shortly to leave for Asia as one of America's first overseas missionaries. And thus commenced one of the great dramas of church history--a saga of love, courage, suffering and perseverance.

Excellent Feb 18, 2008
My Heart in His Hands is an excellent book for those interested in selfless dedication to the spread of the Gospel of the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is a book I will read many times and purchase to give to others.
Interesting and well-done Jul 21, 2007
This is a very interesting presentation of the life and ministry of Ann Hasseltine Judson. Through excerpts from her letters and from the Memoir by James Knowles, interwoven with the author's narrative, the reader not only gains a better understanding of Ann Judson's life as a missionary (with Adoniram Judson) in Burma in the 19th century, but also learns of the inner thoughts and feelings of the missionary herself. You will be both challenged and moved by the powerful testimony of this courageous woman who gave her all for her God for the furtherance of the gospel in a distant land. The bibliographical references and index increase the value of this well-done biography.
A gripping read! Nov 2, 1999
For anyone with a heart for missions or a love for the Lord, this is a great read! Sharon has captured the real spirit that Ann Judson had to reached the unreached with the gospel. The latter half about Adoniram's prison experience was one of those narratives which has you looking forward to going to bed so you can settle in for a good hour of reading!! It is brought to life with letters and diary entries. It very much opened up my mind to the pioneer mission work of the Judson's in Burma and challenged me in my own efforts at witnessing for Christ and serving him.
