Item description for Beneath the Cross Take Home Kit: Letters from a Good Friday World [With String and Brochure(s)] by Scott Bryte...
What if Good Friday was the end? The pain, the anger, and the heart-wrenching confusion that filled the hearts and minds of those who witnessed Jesus death must have been overwhelming. Each of them went home not knowing that Easter was coming.
Taking this perspective, Scott Bryte has written seven pieces of correspondence from the hearts of those who were closest to the crucifixion. Each creative presentation offers a unique look into how each character perceived the end of the world as they knew it, including: * a sympathy card from Mary, the mother of Jesus, to her mother, * a letter from Joseph of Arimathea to his brother, * an official memo from Caiaphas to the Sanhedrin, * a note from Simon Peter to the Acme Fishing Supply Company, * a scroll from Centurion Marcus Flavius to the commander of the Imperial Roman Infantry, * a letter from Mary Magdalene to her sister, and * a suicide note scrawled out by Judas Iscariot.
These insightful pieces will initiate Lenten discussions unlike any other. Each week, a miniature version of the presentation is also given to members of the congregation to take home and inspire continued worship and discussion throughout the week.
Additional miniatures may be ordered as needed for each congregation.
