Item description for The Life and Revelations of Anne Catherine Emmerich (2-Volume Set) by K. E. Schmoger...
Overview A comprehensive biography of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824), the German Augustinian nun whose visions of biblical figures and events have led to conversions, confirmed religious vocations, and inspired thousands to a deeper faith. Witness the life of this holy woman, beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2004, who offered her life for God's purpose and greater glory. (2-volume set)
Publishers Description Anne Catherine Emmerich was told by Our Lord that her gift of seeing the past, present, and future in mystic vision was greater than that possessed by anyone else in history. She had the use of reason from her birth and could understand liturgical Latin from her first time at Mass. During the last 12 years of her life, she could eat no food except Holy Communion, nor take any drink except water, subsisting entirely on the Holy Eucharist. From 1802 until her death, she bore the wounds of the Crown of Thorns, and from 1812, the full stigmata of Our Lord, including a cross over her heart and the wound from the lance. Anne Catherine Emmerich possessed the gift of reading hearts, and she saw, in actual, visual detail, the facts of Catholic belief, which most of us simply have to accept on faith. Her revelations make the hidden, supernatural world come alive. They lift the veil on the world of grace and enable the reader to see the manifold doctrines of our Faith in all their wondrous beauty.

The Life and Revelations of Anne Catherine Emmerich Apr 15, 2010
I'm still reading this 2-volume set but find the works very enlightening and inspirational. It's well worth the time spent in reading about Sister Anne Catherine's visions and revelations. (Highly recommended).

This book is a great read for anyone who is into either history or Catholicism. The truth of Anne Catherine's life has been fully documented and she was recently moved from Venerable to Blessed by the Church. Her experiences of life outside her body while the visible signs of the time in vision showed up on her body which had been in bed the whole while is truly incredible - except that there is proof! Who among us could touch the relic of a saint and not only tell others which saint it was but actually contact the saint in Heaven?
Review of Writings of Anne Catherine Emmerick Sep 24, 2008
This is a tremendous book if one believes in the authenticity and sanctity of Catherine Emmerick as I do. Each of the saints and holy people to whom God, who is present with His People until the end of time, gives messages to for all mankind, to each one is given a different glimpse or facet into the greatness and the love of God. This set of two volumes is the most complete that I have found available to the average person concerning Catherine Emmerick. She has been given glimpses of the supernatural unlike that given to any other person, details into the lives of Our Lord and other holy persons. Catherine recognizes relics of holy persons without being informed of whom is the saint and confirms the great glory of those who have served the Lord. She practices charitable works in her visions and God rewards her because her charity is her desire not the deeds actually accomplished. What makes me believe in her most is her holy life in which she always sought truth, which has been investigated into by the Church and found worthy of belief. She was given visions into the struggle within Christ's Church today: A holy Church wherein God is present and also side-by-side, a false church built purely on human foundations, no saints are taking part in it. She gives details unimaginable in the 1800s of what all God's people are going through now, of Satan trying to destroy His Church; of the victory of God's people and how it is accomplished. Not all these things will be fully understood now, but seeing all is foretold is God's Plan to encourage and give hope to His people. I do not read this book from beginning to end, that would be difficult, but I take it up and read parts at random where there is tremendous richness in her words. I recommend this book if one desires to know more about Catherine Emmerick, especially if one has read the Dolores Passions of Our Lord or the Life of Our Blessed Mother as seen by Catherine and wants to know more of this tremendous persons favored by God with words for you.
