Excellent Book for Kids Nov 9, 2006
This book was given to us as a Baptismal gift. I then gave it as a gift for a Baptism. My sons love reading the stories. Each story is acurate and fun to read. You won't regret having this book in your collection.
Best Bible for Children in Print...PROMISE! Aug 15, 2006
Our (ADHD) son who couldn't have cared less for books at age 4 would bring me this Bible to read him just "one" story. By the time he saw another picture and another, we had read 3 stories with him begging for "just one more". Yes, the illustrations are fantastic, but it is the easy flowing rhyming text that makes The Rhyme Bible a must have. My son has no doubt gotten ever child's Bible/devotional out there as gifts, but this one is our pick. As a parent you will soon be quoting the poems by heart, and the added bonus is that because your child will know the text, too, your child might learn to read early as ours did! This book is a keeper!
The perfect gift for children! Jul 9, 2006
The Rhyme Bible Storoybook is the perfect gift for every child! Our grandchildren have learned Bible stories at such an early age because of the "Rhymes", stories that they won't soon forget! It is a fun and exciting book with great illustrations to help children know about God and His love for them. Parents love it too! It is a lovely gift for new parents as well! A book that we wished we had when we were raising our children. Our grandchildren ask their parents to read it every night! As grandparents, we too have a copy for when they visit us!
Love This Book! Jul 3, 2006
I bought this book to read to my five year old daughter as a suppliment to her Children's Bible. She loves it and she is learning so much! We like to take some of our favorite verses and recite them as we play "patty -cake" type games, and also I make up hand motions to some and we recite them together with the motions. I enjoy the book as much as she does, and the fact that she asks me to read the stories to her over and over says it all. I highly recommend this book to anyone who desires to teach their children the stories of the Bible in a fun and very effective way.
Good retelling of stories Feb 14, 2006
FORMAT: 35 of the most famous--and most gentle--Bible stories in heavily illustrated 10-15 page bouncy poems that are actually pleasant and engaging.
FAITHFULNESS: There is occasional softening of the stories to make them gentler and milder, but there is almost no editorializing despite the fact that the stories are completely rewritten to make them rhyme.
ILLUSTRATIONS: Bright illustrations are engaging but not special.
USEFULNESS: Good for bedtime devotions for the very young, and great for keeping attention. Not *terribly* useful beyond the narrative itself, and children in Christian homes should be very familiar with most of the stories quite young, so they won't be new to any but the youngest. There is a Rhyme Bible for toddlers, but I wouldn't want this simplified any further.
