Powerful Book About Prophets and Prophecy! Feb 8, 2010
This was a fantastic book! I hae read many, many books about prophets and prophesying over the last 15-20 years. This was without a doubt the very best one! So many things that I haven't understood in my walk with the Lord, they were explained in this book! Things I experienced or went thru, feeling totally alone, because no one else seemed to have had that experience-they were explained in this book! I am forever grateful to this author.
Invaluable and a Must Read ! Jan 8, 2010
Loren Sanford has done it again.
He has stuck his neck out with insights from the trials and refining fire of God's love.
This subject in the Western Church is vastly misrepresentented with heady how-to's removing God's heart and the requirements of the call. But not this book.
Loren has embraced the call full tilt.
His chapter on "the profile of a prophetic person" will relieve the anxious parent, the frustrated pastor, and the confounded counselor. Loren's goal is empowerment for the prophetic person, healing for their battered soul, and peace to their anxious mind.
This is the best book so far on profiling such people.
Next Loren, please write about the leadership dynamics of the prophetic people within spheres of life, work, and relationships.
This book has a heavy anointing on it!!! Dec 18, 2009
From the time I saw this book I knew the Spirit of God had drawn me to it, I purchased it along with several others that His Spirit had drawn me to, and wow! This book ministered to me in this season of transition! I really encourages those that walk in the Office a Prophet (myself included) to read this book. The way the author described his feelings throughout his spiritual walk; especially prior to knowing he is a prophet really ministered to me on a personal level.
Another blessing and a pleasant surprise was the fact that his father is the author of the Elijah Task which I just finished reading and that book changed my life! Then to come behind it with a watering of this book Prophetic People really stirs a deeper defining of the calling and purpose.
I don't want to share the specifics of this book because it is really a must read book, but I will say this: Loren Sandford's gifting to minister to prophets is recognized and confirmed in this book!
God bless him and his Dad for the contributions to the Body of Christ through their obedience!
Simple Truth Simple Truth Too: Understanding the Bible In Everyday Life Catch A Falling Star
A must read if you feel you are calling in prophetic ministry Sep 17, 2009
I have wrestled for many, many years with the "prophetic calling". This book helped me reach some clarity why I am at the place I am in. It wasnt that God had forgotten about me, but rather the past 25 (yes, 25) years have been a time of developing inner strength, character development and ultimately drawing closer to God than I could have ever imagined. Sandford says this on p172 -"The pattern (of growing in prophetic ministry) follows three stages: first, calling and success; second, an exile of suffering and character adjustment; and third, God grants the promised destiny." I have watched many friends and fellow ministers reach much success personally and professionally but I seemed to have always been placed on God's back burner - not attaining much during my adult life. But I learned through this book, that because my destiny is different than most Christians that I must walk a different path than others. Because of this book, I have accepted my role and path in His Kingdom.
Insightful Book! Must read! Jul 15, 2009
This book brought light to the prophetic, but more so prophetic people and how they operate. It brought clarity to my life and answers that I needed. Must read!
