By Lisa Samson
Nineteen years old, betrothed--Sylvie de Courcey thought her future was settled. Then she met Matthew Wallace.
She is heir to her father's wine fortune, amassed over a generation of labor in the vineyards of Champagne, France. But while the vast holdings of the family estate belong to Sylvie de Courcey, her future does not. Her betrothal to the handsome Count Rene de Boyce has been planned from childhood -- an arrangement Sylvie knows nothing of . . . until her heart has been given to another man. Even as Sylvie struggles with a wrenching choice between love and loyalty, a deeper secret tightens its invisible tendrils in a stranglehold on both families.
Rooted in French underworld, its fruit quickly ripens into murder, extortion, and betrayal. One person stands between Sylvie and the evil that closes in on every side: the man Sylvie loves most, and cannot afford to love at all. Set in France, England, and Scotland in the mid-1800's, Indigo Waters weaves romance, suspense, unforgettable characters, and surprising twists in a novel of unquenchable faith. Indigo waters is the first book in the Shades of Eternity series by Lisa Samson. Filled with the splendor and romance of historical Europe, these well-crafted novels trace one family's journey of faith in the lives and loves of its members in the mid-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This Book Will Leave You Wanting More Feb 6, 2003
I've always been a big fan of Christian Romances, especially ones set in past times. All I can say is I could not put this book down! I stayed up half the night reading all that I could. It is suspenseful, funny, heartbreaking, and uplifting all at the same time. I loved it! I immediately went out and got the sequel also!
Awsome Book! Apr 12, 2001
This is one of the best books that I've read of its kind. I love reading and this one kept me hooked. If you have ever read a Christian romance that you liked, you'll like this one. There are many plot twists and they keep you guessing right up to the very end. Even with all the turns it takes, you never get lost - I knew what was happening from beggining to end. Your heart will go out to Sylvie and what she needs to go through. She is forced to make a choice between love and loyalty to her family. Her strong, though young faith in God keeps her going and happy through it all.
This book is truly a heart and soul gripping tale. Aug 26, 1999

A gifted storyteller, Lisa Samson's passion for life animates her characters while her eye for detail creates the historical stage upon which they struggle, grow, and ultimately come to terms with themselves and God.
I couldn't put it down! Aug 10, 1999
"Indigo Waters" is a very inspiring and well-written book. From the opening sentence until the last line you can see everything clearly. You really feel like you know the characters. Sylvie's faith in God is very inspiring. Even when it seems like everything is going wrong (and almost everything you can imagine does) she never lets go of her faith in God and He never lets go of her. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
