Reviews - What do customers think about Object Lessons: 100 Lessons From Everyday Life?
Paternalistic view! Sep 20, 2005
The objects are common-place and easy to find. However, I really found this book paternalistic and condescending. The object concepts have merit; the attitude toward the reader that is reflected is offensive to me. This is a rather old-fashioned sunday school approach that assumes that children don't know much about faith. Even 3 year-olds in my church have the fundamentals of God's love and care. In my opinion, this book does not share that with the reader.
Ryrie uses practical everyday things to teach truth. Oct 12, 1999
Mr. Ryrie's book is practical, has variety, is based on scriptural truth, is easy to adapt to your cultural situation, and helps teach more clearly, dificult to explain, christian life truths. It is easy to read and easy to use.
