Reviews - What do customers think about NAS Ryrie Study Bible/Expanded-Burgundy Bond?
Excellent study Bible Mar 17, 2007
This couples the excellent NAS translation with the excellent notes from Ryrie leading to an excellent Study Bible! Provides very informative background information on each book of the Bible and insightful notes of Bible passages. Highly recommended!
listing incorrect Jan 19, 2007
I purchased this item on the basis that it had a leather cover rather than a "bonded" leather cover as in many other listings. When I received the Bible, it was "bonded" leather. I returned it for a "genuine" leather covered Bible.
Great Bible! Jan 3, 2007
The NAS Ryrie Study Bible is a wonderful study Bible. Charles Ryrie's notes are very informative and Scriptural. I would highly recommend this Bible to anyone who wants to study the Scriptures and gain a deeper understanding of God's Word.
Getting started Nov 30, 2006
This is the second Ryrie Study Bible, it was my first study Bible and so I bought for a new Christian who want to learn more and so I bought it for her. It is very detailed and full of useful information, it's a great investment for anyone wanting to know more about God...
Excellent Resource, Excellent Translation Nov 5, 2006
This is one of the only study bibles that is worth having (The Old Scofield Reference Bible is another). Although I don't agree with all that Ryrie has to say (but who agrees with all that anyone has to say), his insights are well thought out and seem to be very prayerful. Then there is the matter of translation. I know you can gat this bible in the KJV and the NIV. I started out on the NIV and eventually grew out of it. The KJV, although unparalled in majesty, is still a difficult read. The NASB is by far my favorite. While not perfect, it still tries hard to maintain the literal meaning of the text, which makes for great exegetical and expository study. I would recommend this for someone who has just began to study the Word of God, or for a seasoned bible scholar who favors the pre-millenial, pre-tribulation view. I have read a couple of reviews that compain about the binding. These people probably have the bonded leather, which is cheap. Although considerably more, the genuine leather is worth the money. Happy stuyding.
