Item description for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: A Survival Guide For Family And Friends by Roy Cohen & Roy C...
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can tear apart a family. Often family and friends have tried to "stop" a loved one's OCD--with little success. This is the first book specifically for the family and friends of someone with OCD.
"In this quick and easy fast tract era, it's not so easy to reflect back to the basics of family life. Families especially are led to believe if something's wrong, somehow it's their fault. This loving book is an inspiration and will be considered way ahead of it's time in years to come." -Janet Greeson, Ph.D.

Exellent hands-on guide Dec 6, 1999
Provides answers to the question- how do I try to help someone with OCD without hurting myself? At the OC Foundation national headquarters we literally receive thousands of inquiries for help from families trying to cope with a loved one's OCD. This is the first book that addresses this difficult topic and remains one of our most recommended book for families living with OCD.
Excellent ! Dec 6, 1999
For years our family didn't know how to deal with this problem. It seemed like anything we did could set off my sons ocd. This book showed us what we could do (and couldn't do) to help.At times the book has a hard edge to it And gives advice that some people rather not hear, but our family needed to read & hear what was written, and as a result we are all doing better. A must if someone with ocd is making you crazy.
A grateful reader from: The Bronx, NY
Great Book Dec 5, 1999
This is a great book. It is short, and gets right to the point. It has helped me and my family greatly.
THIS BOOK IS BAD! Nov 30, 1999
This book gave ZERO help. I bought it to give to my in-laws as a "basic" info book aobut OCD. i would have sent them screaming away if they ever had a chance to read it. It is all about the "steps" of AA (alcohol annon) and NOT about OCD.
DONT BUY THIS! IT STINKS!

fantastic Feb 4, 1999
As the title suggests this book is written as a guide and it accomplishes just that. The book is focused entirely on solution, no surprise considering who the author is.The book is a must for those family and friends who need help in understanding this powerful disease. The book details useful tools that the reader can use to help themselves and in turn help those suffering. From front to back this book is written with one purpose in mind service!!!!
