Item description for MarsFace by Roberta M. Pala...
Maggie Evans, a high school biology teacher with her feet on the ground and her future planned, has her world turned upside down by her gifted, troubled student, Craig Vaughn, who draws her into an adventure that takes her from the hot, water-rich Amazon to the frigid, arid surface of Mars. It begins with Craig's interest in a mysterious meteor that appears to contain evidence of extraterrestrial life. Her marriage threatened by her infatuation with Craig, and carrying a child she never wanted, Maggie faces her greatest peril 50 million miles from home as she finds what she came for...proof of non-human intelligence.

At last a sci fi story that gives you the real scoop about conditions on Mars! And a group of believable characters who make you care about what happens to them. A very fun read.
Great Read! Jan 27, 2003
This was a fascinating book that I couldn't stop reading once I started. A lot of interesting info that a non-science type like me could understand. A great read!
Closer to the truth than ever before!!!! Dec 1, 2002
This book was fantastic!... A masterpiece! How did she come up with those characters? They are all so vivid, so real! I actually did feel like I was on Mars, the book just draws you in. A great read, I couldn't put it down!
How sci-fi was meant to be Dec 1, 2002
This is a person who must have put a lot of effort into this book. For one the characters are very beliveble. This reminds me of old fashioned science fiction. The book is remakable for how it portrays human relationships under difficult circumstances. They seem like your neighbor or someone you know or even yourself. Doesn't every one have a little Maggie in them?
What a Book!!! Nov 27, 2002
This book changed my life. I loved it to an extent unknown to most Sci Fi Freaks, forget "normal" people. It was so unbelivably orginal, I can't beleive this woman wrote this. Now, if I buy my own copy, her daughter said I can get my copy signed....
