Reviews - What do customers think about Mountain Top?

Slow start, but really intriguing....worth the read!  Oct 9, 2008
LOVED IT! It started off a little slow, and the "dreams & visions" thing was kind of weird, but if you just take it as a fictional story and let yourself become attached to the characters, it is really really really good! I wish there were going to be a sequel!

You'll want to meet these people  Oct 3, 2008
Whitlow's story and characters from Mountain Top will stay with me the rest of my life. But that is why I love Robert Whitlow's novels it is a great read, yes, but you also come away with so much more.

good book  Jan 6, 2008
Well-written Christian fiction. Not your typical romance or mystery, just a good story. I checked it out at the library and enjoyed it, then bought one here to give as a Christmas gift. Another Robert Whitlow book, Jimmy, is just as good, if not better.

A Good Read  Aug 4, 2007
Writers are supposed to write what they know, and Robert Whitlow knows the South, Christianity, and law very well. The main character, Mike Andrews, is a lawyer-turned-preacher who finds himself back in the courtroom against his will defending a strange old man named Sam Miller. Sam's prophetic visions are part of the reason that he is in trouble.

Sam is not unlike some Christians who might be labeled as fanatic with his visions and his references to God as 'Papa.' Truthfully, though, there are people in our lives who can make us a bit uncomfortable and stretch us in the process of getting to know them.

Whitlow's themes of loyalty, love, and integrity in his characters are what makes this book interesting. I didn't care for this book as much as "The Trial," "The List," or "Life Support" because the story seemed to drag at times. It is definitely worth a read.

Slow moving with an exciting and powerful end  Jul 1, 2007
While reading the Mountain Top, I was sometimes bored with it. The author supplied unnecessary details, but I kept reading because I was intrigued by the book's unusual plot. Eventually the Mountain Top became a real page-turner. The plot is carefully executed, and the story is completely believable. Some of the characters, especially Peg, could use more depth. Whitlow did a great job describing the two main characters, though. If you like action, it really picks up toward the end of the story. I liked Whitlow's Life Support Life Support (Santee) quite a bit more than Mountain Top, but Mountain Top is definitely worth reading. Author, With Great Mercy.
